NHYHA Learn to Skate
NHYHA Learn to Skate
New Hartford Learn to Skate program is designed with the beginner skater in mind. This program is broken into 2 sections on ice: Learn to Skate and Learn to Play.
Learn to Skate students will learn the basics of skating while developing agility, balance and coordination in a fun and supportive environment. This program is a great starting place for children who would like to continue into our hockey program or just want to learn how to skate recreationally.
Learn to Play is for players who have established the basic skating skills. Our LTP program will continue to focus on skating while developing basics hockey skills as well. Sticks are required. Coaches will evaluate players during the first weeks of the season to determine their readiness for this program.
All LTS/LTP players will need helmets, neck guard, and gloves, however full hockey gear is encouraged.
